Blue Tongues Drop Double
After a strong weekend against the Bears last week, the Blue Tongues looked to carry that over against the North Stars, a team that beat them 10-3 in Newcastle a few weeks back.
Saturday saw the North Stars dominate in all aspect of the game outskating, outplaying and outscoring the Tongues with a 5-0 shutout. Matt Ezzy was solid in net for the North Stars and showed why he is Australia's best netminder. At the other end, Simo Mustonen faced 39 shots and made some outstanding plays. (Read the full story)
Blue Tongues Prepared For North Stars
After destroying the Bears last weekend at the Lizard Pit, the Blue Tongues look to seek revenge on the Newcastle North Stars for the loss they suffered a few weeks back.
The Blue Tongues are not the same team that the North Stars faced 2 weeks ago. The undisciplined play is gone, the penalties are less common and the team has started to gain momentum and chemistry. (read more)
A Fan Favorite Returns
Those who have followed the Blue Tongues over the last few years will recognise the name "Billy Crumm". Those who don't soon will.
Billy Crumm played with the Blue Tongues for the first 2 years of their time in the AIHL, and in that time not only put up great numbers, but became one of the true fan favorites. Always willing to stop and say hello after the games, Billy gained a reputation of one of the nicest players the team has ever had on it, no small fete considering some of the great players we have had over the last 3 years. Blue Tongues Drop 4 Straight
The Blue Tongues traveled to Canberra and Sydney over the weekend in an attempt to pick up some points after dropping the 2 games last weekend. Saturdays game ended in a 4-3 defeat to the Canberra Knights, with Dave Upton scoring all 3 goals for the Tongues. The Supporters Club would like to offer our congratulations to Davie. Unfortunately, the game was overshadowed by bad penalties and an ugly incident on the benches. (read more)
We're looking for those who've left us
Over the past 3 seasons we've come to know and love some amazing guys through the Blue Tongues. It is unfortunate that some of them have moved on to other endeavours, or gone back home to complete studues, work etc. If you're one of those guys, please get in touch with us.
