After a strong weekend against the Bears last week, the Blue Tongues looked to carry that over against the North Stars, a team that beat them 10-3 in Newcastle a few weeks back.

Saturday saw the North Stars dominate in all aspect of the game outskating, outplaying and outscoring the Tongues with a 5-0 shutout. Matt Ezzy was solid in net for the North Stars and showed why he is Australia's best netminder. At the other end, Simo Mustonen faced 39 shots and made some outstanding plays.

Sunday was a different game. The Blue Tongues scored first, putting the momentum back on the North Stars to compete. They did, tying the game in what was to be an end to end battle right down to the last second. Tied 4 a piece at the end of the 3rd the teams went to a shootout where Matt Ezzy and Simo Mustonen were both phenominal. The North Stars shooters were better on the day however, and the Stars left with a 5-4 shootout victory, and back to back wins.
